CD-R media experiences with Marantz CDR630 

Excellent:

Samsung CD-Recordable 650Mb/74Min (blue)  (but limited test bed)

Pretty Darn Good:

Apogee Reference Archive CD-R CD-74-GAJ Gold Apogee Branded CD-R
(gold) Seems to play well on all audio CD players.  The only down side
is that my HP 7210i CD-RW drive, has trouble ripping audio from
Marantz-burns of Apogee media.

Maxell CDR-74 (blue)  Seems to work pretty well on all players except
portable Sony discmmans, where skips are frequent in mobile settings
even with electronic shock protection enabled.  HP 7210i rips from it
just fine. 

Not Recommended at All

Pretty crappy all around.  Skips even in the best of players.
